‘Together we grow…’

Rooted in John 15: 1-5, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches.”

Our vision as an inclusive Church School is best depicted by our school prayer, which is rooted in John 15:1-5 (I am the one true vine):

Thank you for the things we will learn today; help us make friends along the way; let us show kindness in our school; give us the courage to follow our school rule. Don’t be afraid to be unique, in your faith we forever seek. Grow strong and stable like the vine and keep the Hallow family in our lives.

As a result, Hallow Children leave Year 6 as resilient learners who value and respect themselves and others.

Christian Values

At Hallow, we take pride in our strong relationships with all stakeholders and our Vision and Values are a result of consultations with staff, governors, parents and our children. We have established a set of 8 core values which underpin everything that makes us ‘Hallow’; these can be seen on the visual representation of the vine. The image of the vine enables us to show that FAMILY give us roots: our own families, Hallow Family and the wider concept of being part of God’s family. Jesus (JOY) is the core that flows through everything we are and do as a church school. The vine grows in different directions, as do we; each one of us is unique and able to go in the direction we need to, but all of us are connected and supported by the vine itself, enabling our children to bear their own fruits. The ‘fruits’ of the vine (our core Christian values) are the product of how we teach, guide and support each other at Hallow. These values are used as a focus during our times of class and whole school collective worship. They are also lived and breathed by all of the staff, governors and children.
